Following the first meeting in Paris of the Forum of Islam, a new body that aims to reshape life for Muslims in France, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin says "it is not up to the State to organise the Muslim religion, it's up to Muslims to organise themselves," adding that "Islam is not a religion of foreigners for foreigners in France, but a French religion."
