Description
Addressing reporters at the White House, the deputy US national security advisor for international economics Daleep Singh says US-led international financial sanctions and export controls "would undercut Putin's aspirations to project power and exert influence on the world stage" if President Vladimir Putin goes ahead with an invasion of Ukraine. Also speaking at the White House podium, Anne Neuberger, the deputy national security advisor for cyber threats, accused Russia of mounting the latest wave of cyberattacks in Ukraine and warned "we may see further destabilizing or destructive cyber activity" should Russia decide to proceed with a further invasion of Ukraine. During the press briefing White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirms Secretary of State Antony Blinken has accepted to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov but declines to say whether US President Joe Biden has read the Russian response on Ukraine.
