Former Minister of Justice Christiane Taubira acknowledges she will not succeed "in gathering the 500 sponsorships required to run in France's presidential election", and brings an end to her campaign. Taubira came to the fore in the pre-election campaign after being voted the most popular French socialist candidate in a public poll organised by left-wing activists.
