London transport authorities have completed the final phase of public tests for a long-awaited new railway line beneath the British capital, ahead of its projected opening to the public this summer. The Elizabeth line has suffered serial delays and budget blowouts, but volunteers have now been able to take a ride through the new tunnel network as part of TFL’s testing of safety services.
