"It's either victory or nothing": in a street in Kyiv, 28-year-old Frenchman Pierre (not his real name) explains the reasons for his commitment to the Georgian Legion, a brigade of foreign volunteers who are going to fight alongside Ukrainian forces. After four years of fighting with Kurdish forces in north-eastern Syria, he wants to bring "solidarity" and "military experience".
