Temperatures have gotten milder in south-west Ukraine, time for Alexander Petkov to start sowing sunflowers in his fields. At the border with Romania, in a region that has been spared fighting, the land owner still feels the effect of the conflict: the supply chains have been disrupted and fuel is scarce. This situation could put at risk countries depending on Ukraine's agricultural production: the country is the world's fourth largest exporter of wheat and corn, and it handles 50% of the world's sunflower trade.
