Description
Muslims at a mosque outside Myanmar's commercial hub Yangon break the Ramadan fast together for the first time in two years, after celebrations were disrupted by first the Covid-19 pandemic and then last year's military coup, which plunged the country into turmoil.
During Ramadan, observant Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk and traditionally gather with friends and family to break their fast in the evening.
The starting date of the holy month in Myanmar was set on Sunday after the new moon was sighted in the southern city of Myeik. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
