Kyiv authorities begin to demolish a monument symbolising historic ties between ex-Soviet Ukraine and Russia, more than two months after Moscow's troops invaded their pro-democratic neighbour. The monument has symbolic ties to the Soviet Union, and features USSR hammer and sickle as well as a "friendship of the nations" sign, held by statues of Ukrainian and Russian workers.
