The Getlink group, through its subsidiary ElecLink, is about to commission the first high voltage electricity cable in the Channel Tunnel. It should enable a gigawatt to be exchanged between France and the United Kingdom and thus "distribute electricity better and therefore optimise" production and consumption, explains Getlink's managing director.
