Description
Hong Kong's incoming new leader John Lee says it is "absolutely wrong" to say critics and opposition have been kept behind bars because of their opinions. Lee, 64, a former security chief who oversaw the crackdown on Hong Kong's democracy movement, was anointed the business hub's new leader on Sunday in a near unanimous vote by a small committee of Beijing loyalists. Lee also accused the European Union of "double standards", after Brussels said his appointment violated democratic norms. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
