Just outside Paris in Ris-Orangis (Essonne), the Geodis group has invested in an automated book parcel sorting platform to "speed up and optimise flows": each year, 67,000 tonnes of books, i.e. almost one in three books sold in France, pass through these delivery lines before being distributed to booksellers.
