Shelling thunders in several directions and black smoke drifts upward in the distance as Zhanna Protsenko pedals around town in war-battered Orikhiv. Protsenko is a social worker who has chosen to stay on the job even as the danger intensifies, since she is tasked with looking after people who won't or simply can't evacuate.
