At their meeting in Berlin, the G7 health ministers agreed on a pandemic pact to detect pandemics earlier in the future and respond more effectively. Speaking on behalf of the G7 countries, German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach also announces their willingness to "strengthen" the WHO and to increase mandatory contributions "by 50 percent in the long term", as well as their commitment to "defend" and "help rebuild" the Ukrainian health system.
