Description
Bangladesh's northeastern Sylhet region floods as heavy pre-monsoon fills local rivers and inundates paddy fields. Four people have died in the floods and about two-thirds of the region is under water, officials say. Farmers attempt to save their damaged harvest, risking their lives to dry crops on highways. At least a fifth of Bangladesh, a low-lying nation of criss-crossing muddy rivers at the top of the Bay of Bengal, is hit by flooding every year.
