Kharkiv in northeast Ukraine tries to return to a semblance of normal life as the iconic Crystal Cafe in the city's central park reopens and locals now come to have a coffee, eat or enjoy their “belochka”, the house specialty ice cream that has been famous since the 1960s. Far from the centre in the popular district of Saltivska, a district plagued by Russian artillery and where shells still regularly fall, people on the street sell produce from their gardens, saying they have 'nothing more'.
