"Guadeloupe's reputation is clearly posing a problem for us. (...) It's tough to sell the university hospital at a time when it's been blocked, vandalised and sabotaged," says Cedric Zolezzi, the interim director of the Pointe-à-Pitre hospital, which is struggling to recruit staff and is forced to limit access to the emergency department at night, admitting only patients who are brought in by emergency services.
