Description
In the alleys of Petrivka, a famous book market in Kyiv, a bill imposing severe restrictions on the publication and distribution of Russian books divides booksellers and book lovers, in the midst of war with Russia. It will be prohibited to import books published in Russia and its ally Belarus, regardless of their author. However, the application of these texts will be complicated: books in Russian published in Ukraine or in other countries remain theoretically authorized, provided that Russian is the original language of the author and that it is not considered hostile to Ukraine. The great classics of Russian literature such as Pushkin or Tolstoy are spared. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
