Description
People attend the unveiling ceremony of the Magdala Stone at the Magdala centre, near the site where it was found near the town of Migdal on the banks of Lake Tiberias in northern Israel. The stone bearing the seven-branched Menorah (candelabrum) was found in 2009 during the excavation of a Galilean synagogue dating to the Second Temple period (50 BC-100 AD) in the ancient city of Magdala believed to be Mary Magdalene's hometown. It is now made available for public viewing at its original site. IMAGES
