Argentinian peso depreciated sharply against the dollar on the black market on Monday, as the first reaction to the appointment of Silvina Batakis as the new economy minister to replace Martin Guzman, who resigned. On the informal foreign exchange market, the Argentine currency closed at 267 pesos to the US dollar, moderating its initial depreciation when it touched 280 pesos to the dollar, compared to 239 pesos last Friday, July 1.
