Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko admits that he runs an authoritarian state but claims there are no political prisoners in his isolated country. Belarus rights group Viasna says the country currently has 1,259 political prisoners. But Lukashenko dismisses "talk of hundreds" of imprisoned people and claims that "it is about people who have spoken out against the state, not against the authorities, but against the state and against their own people."
