Honduras deploys military police in the Chamelecon neighbourhood of San Pedro Sula where a dirt road known as "La Frontera" (The Border) divides the territories of Barrio 18 and Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gangs. Clashes between the two sides are frequent. "They shoot here and there in that war," says one resident who lives on the side of the MS-13 gang, adding that the ones who suffer are the "humble people" who get "hit by a stray bullet in the crossfire."
