The smell of the fire that ravaged the pine forests of Gironde still hangs over the Lac de Cazaux campsite but tourism is slowly picking up. Amidst the charred trees, the restaurant "La Cazaute" is preparing to reopen tomorrow, to the delight of holidaymakers. "Of course, it still smells a bit like smoke, but it will dissipate quickly" says Claude, a camper who has been displaced since the beginning of the fires in Gironde (south-west France).
