Description
“I'm desperate, not knowing what is happening, and when I am going to see him again,” says Jesus Ronaldo Mireles Romo, son of one of the 10 workers trapped in a flooded coal mine in Agujita, northern Mexico, as extraction pumps remove water from the mine to try to rescue the miners. Around 230 army and other government personnel are sent to the site, about 1,130 kilometres (700 miles), according to the defence ministry.
the rescue cannot be carried out until the water that has flooded the mine subsides.
For now extraction pumps remove water until the entry of divers is possible.
The families of the trapped miners feel powerless and frustrated as they watch time go by without knowing about their relatives. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
