Description
Pakistan zoo is auctioning off a dozen lions to private collectors next week to free up space for a pride that won't stop growing. The zoo is currently home to 29 lions, and officials plan an auction on August 11 to sell 12 of them, aged between two and five years old. "WWF is very concerned about the sale of wild animals because some of the species are endangered like tigers. And when we sell big cats, we do not have a proper monitoring mechanism for the facilities that buy them," says WWF-Pakistan Wildlife Conservation Expert, Uzma Khan. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
