Description
The rescue operation of a beluga whale stranded for the past week in France's River Seine will be undertaken on Tuesday evening. The removal of the cetacean, which is nearly four-metres long and weighs 800 kg, from a lock requires extraordinary logistics. "The work has been extremely well prepared and we are hopeful that everything will go very well," says the deputy prefect of Evreux in Normandy, Isabelle Dorliat-Pouzet, at a press conference.
