The beluga whale stranded in the Seine for a week had to be euthanised on Wednesday after its arrival in the seaside town of Ouistreham (Calvados) because of respiratory insufficiency, says Florence Ollivet-Courtois, colonel of the veterinary fire department of the SDIS 91.
