"We couldn't take in everyone last week because we didn't have enough room," says Aurélie Ithurbide, team leader at the Orgeval SPA (The Society for the Protection of Animals, Eds.) in northern France. With some 100 cats and 80 dogs, the shelter is full, a recurring phenomenon in the summer, when abandonments increase as the French go on holiday.
