Description
In Ukraine's second largest city of Kharkiv local authorities installed the first out of 25 bus stop bomb shelters. The concrete structure is designed to accomodate up to 50 people, has seats, and screens with CCTV feed that show what is happening outside the shelter. Announcing the plan on Telegram app, Kharkiv mayor Igor Terehov said he hopes the bomb shelters at the city's busiest bus stops "will help to save many lives." Kharkiv, like other cities in Ukraine, has seen missile strikes and shelling of public transport stops. Just last month, Russian strike on a bus stop in Kharkiv killed three, including a 13-year-old boy. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
