Description
One of Hong Kong's tourism icon, the Peak Tram, organises a media tour to unveil new carriages and terminal after a year-long closure for a HK$799 million (US$102 million) renovation before its reopening to the public on Saturday.
The historic funicular, first opened in 1888, closed in June 2021 to replace old burgundy carriages with new, longer sixth generation green cars which can carry up to 210 passengers in a single ride.
Once a global logistics and transportation hub, Hong Kong has been largely cut off from the world for more than two years due to its adherence to China's strict zero-Covid policy. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
