The decree taken on August 15 by the Malian junta to prohibit the use of shisha (hookah) divides Malians between defenders of public health and amateurs of a distraction appreciated by young people. Traders denounce the fact that they were not warned in advance and some consumers are asking the authorities "find another solution" than that of a total ban on shisha, whilst some health experts welcome the decree.
