Description
"A big old sigh of relief... that was my first initial reaction," says US graduate student Roman De La Cruz as he praises President Joe Biden's announcement that most Americans trying to pay off university loans will get $10,000 forgiven, in a bid to address the decades-old headache of massive educational debt across the country. Through this measure, the 27-year-old geologist, who graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Geology, says that his student debt will go down from over $27,000 to $17,000, and that life "is going to be a lot easier."
