The Consistory for the appointment of twenty new Cardinals by Pope Francis is held in St Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican City. The new Cardinals, including figures from Korea and the United States, could be responsible for choosing the next Pope. After the ceremony, the new Cardinals meet the faithful in the nearby Paul VI Hall. "I think it is really Pope Francis' vision of having a universal church" says Nathalie Becquart, Undersecretary of the Synod, "it is the diversity of the church, in a way, that will be more important in the College of Cardinals after this Consistory."
