Description
In an effort to improve Germany's energy supply and tackle the Russian gas crisis, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Minister-President Manuela Schwesig and Bavaria's Minister-President Markus Söder visit the Gascade distribution site at the German coastal city of Lubmin, where Nord Stream 1 comes upshore. The two regional leaders agreed on strategic cooperation in a new floating terminal project for the switch to liquefied natural gas (LNG): the LNG, transported in by ships, will arrive at Lubmin's industrial port and be converted into natural gas and pumped into Gascade's distribution network, which has so far been used to funnel Russian gas around the country.
