Description
Singapore's two adult pandas will stay in the city-state after their zoo signed an agreement with Chinese authorities on Friday to extend their 10-year loan.
14-year-old Kai Kai and 13-year-old Jia Jia will stay at the River Wonders wildlife park for five more years under the deal signed by the Mandai Wildlife Group and the China Wildlife Conservation Association.
The pandas are on a 10-year loan from China and arrived in Singapore in 2012.
They produced a son, Le Le, last year via artificial insemination, the first cub to be born in the city-state.
Le Le will return to China when he turns two next year under the terms of the loan. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
