Description
Long lines of cars form in Jackson, Mississippi, to pick up bottled water and other necessities distributed by volunteers mobilizing to respond to the acute crisis leaving many residents of the southern state's capital without drinkable water. Days of major flooding disrupted the operation of a critical but aging water treatment plant, leaving much of Jackson's water system is out of service. "We all came from all regions of the state to bring water here today," says Jarita Frazier-King, who traveled from the city of Natchez. "This is our off day, but we're here today happy to serve," she adds. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
