Description
Not too far from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Nataliya Solovieva frets as she watches over the newborns and pregnant mothers in her maternity hospital ward. "They need to remember what happened at Chernobyl", the obstetrician says the day after an IAEA mission visited the plant, Europe's largest, occupied by Russia since the early weeks of its invasion. "If there is an accident at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, it will affect all of us. We will not have time to evacuate, there will be long queues on roads and all this with the child," worries primary school teacher Valentyna as she cradles her baby in her arms. "This is very scary."
