With his electricity bill about to increase tenfold, the managing director of Aluminium Sabart, in France's Ariège region, is worried about the viability of his foundry because he cannot pass on the increased cost of production to his customers in the aeronautical sector. "In 2021, we were at 25,000 euros per month, in 2022 we've gone up to 50,000 per month, and in 2023 we're at several hundred thousand euros, with a range of between 600 and 800,000 euros per month," says Thierry Cavinato.
