Description
Defying altitude and unfavourable weather, a vineyard in the Ecuadorian town of Yaruqui, near Quito, makes its way into the wine industry. Being on the equator means no four distinct seasons, necessary for wine production. Despite these difficuties, the Estancia Chaupi winery produces between 4,000 and 5,000 bottles a year and is a pioneer in bringing Ecuadorian wines to the international market. IMAGES
