Dozens of destroyed Russian tanks and other military vehicles lie just outside the city of Izyum in eastern Ukraine, their burnt out chassis collecting rust close to a hangar used by Russian forces as a base for months. The Ukrainian military on Sunday announced that around 3,000 square kilometres of territory in the country's east had been won back from Russian forces, including the recapture of Izyum, a strategic city.
