Slowed down by efforts from fire fighters and "quite favourable weather" during the night, a fire that ravaged nearly 3,700 hectares of vegetation and forest in the Gironde department has entered a "stabilisation phase", according to the deputy prefect of Lesparre-Médoc, Fabrice Thibier. SOUNDBITE
