A new book about the life of Olympic legend Nadia Comaneci during Romania’s communist regime details the level of state monitoring the gymnast was under: tapped phones, microphones inside her home and her mail intercepted, while almost everybody around her was an informant. The mental and physical abuse Nadia Comaneci suffered at the hands of her coaches Bela and Martha Karolyi.
