A French court in Nancy is due to hand down its verdict Thursday for seven people appealing convictions of possession of substances intended for use in explosive devices and organising an illegal protest. The defendants were demonstrating against a radioactive waste disposal project in Bure, in the country's east. Their initial sentences range from 12 months in prison to six months suspended.
