Stockshots of Russia's men's national football team training prior to the 2018 World Cup, as the Russian Football Federation announces its intention to stay in UEFA and return to European competitions "as soon as possible". The decision comes after Russia had previously warned it could quit European football's governing body and seek membership of the Asian conferedation. Moscow has been barred from UEFA competitions since February in response to the Kremlin's military operation in Ukraine, and is excluded from the qualifying draw for Euro 2024, as well as FIFA events.
