Description
The attorney general has asked the Court of Appeal of Paris to uphold the conviction of Papa Massata Diack, who worked as a marketing consultant to the IAAF, over a scheme to hide Russian doping. Diack, whose father Lamine Diack headed the IAAF, now World Athletics, from 1999 to 2015, was one of six men convicted in 2020 for hushing up 23 Russian doping offences in exchange for Russian sponsorship contracts. As a result, the athletes were able to compete at the 2012 London Olympics and 2013 world championships in Moscow. PROFILE OF Papa Massata Diack
