Description
A leading Bangladeshi publisher known for works by dissident writers says it was banned from the country's leading book fair, in the latest government clampdown on its critics. The Ekushey Book Fair is organised by the Bangla Academy, the South Asian country's state-run literacy agency, and is a major event on the local cultural calendar. Chief executive of Adarsha publishing house Mahabubur Rahman tells reporters, "the academy can't decide which writer's book to publish and which not to. Secondly, Adarsha didn't publish any book worthy of being banned." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
