German Chancellor Olaf Scholz comments on European cooperation on military aid to Ukraine, saying "we have always closely coordinated all these decisions with all our important allies". Speaking in Paris on the 60th anniversary of reconciliation between Germany and France, and after a meeting in which the two powers discussed Ukraine aid and a European response to US industrial subsidies in the area of energy transition, Scholz says of the Inflation Reduction Act, "it is necessary... that we formulate a European response to it".
