Festive food, a moment of sharing, a cozy apartment: the Titkov family celebrated Friday evening in Vienna, Austria its first Orthodox Christmas in exile, torn between the comfort of their new life far from the bombings and power cuts and the lack of their Ukrainian homeland. Met by AFP last September, Irina, Valerii, Denys, Danylo have taken their mark. Nearly a year after their arrival in Austria, the parents have found work, are taking intensive German courses and the children are used to their new school. But Ukraine remains omnipresent in their daily lives, whether it is through the flow of information they follow online or the calls with relatives left behind.
