Police and climate activists come face to face near the Garzweiler lignite mine, Germany, as authorities get ready to evacuate the activists' camp formed in the village of Luetzerath. The camp, housing thousands of anti-coal demonstrators, is to be demolished and expanded into a coal mine. Eviction operations are set to begin Wednesday. "Barricades are being erected, certain objects are being embedded in the ground to make the eviction as difficult as possible" says Aachen police spokesperson, Andreas Mueller.
