Description
Elena Molchanova is one of only five doctors left in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, which lies in ruins following months of Russian attacks. While she admits she is unable to treat all patients who come to see her, particularly those suffering from mental health problems, she says that for the time being, she has "enough" supplies. "We received medicine from the World Health Organisation for the heart, for fever, for wounds, antibiotics, anti-convulsants..." When the shelling starts, she closes her medical centre and, "if there is enough time", runs to the basement for shelter. Despite life-threatening circumstances, she holds fast: "I am a little afraid but I need to do my job, no matter what", she says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
