Junior doctors attend an event in the heart of London to hear speakers from the British Medical Association, as they are being balloted on whether or not to take strike action in March. Emma Runswick, Deputy Chair of BMA UK Council, says "junior doctors in England have lost 26.1% of their pay in real terms since 2008." She says the BMA is recommending strike action "so that we have a strong negotiating hand for the government, so that we can restore our pay and reverse pay cuts."
